I can only imagine how far Victoria will go in this field that so desperately needs more nurses with her dedication and professionalism, while making her patients feel comfortable and at ease.
I had my first cataract surgery. To say I was nervous would be an understatement. But I was blessed to be taken care of by a prep nurse named Victoria B. She was so very efficient while showing compassion. Then, when I was told that I would not be given any type of anesthesia, my anxiety level was through the roof. Victoria went beyond to calm me down. even going and speaking with the anesthesiologist, Dr. M, on my behalf. I can only imagine how far Victoria will go in this field that so desperately needs more nurses with her dedication and professionalism while making her patients feel comfortable and at ease. She took the time to fully explain things to me while patiently answering my many questions. She did not seem to rush or hurry and get me settled so that she could get to her next patient. And I do realize that she had more patients than just me. The kindness that Victoria gives her patients is not seen every day, and it needs to be bottled up and put on the market. The following month, I came in for my second cataract surgery. To my surprise and grateful heart, Victoria was my prep nurse again. Victoria was still just as kind and caring as she was on my first surgery. It assured me that this is a part of who she is. What a blessing. I would feel safe to assume that it is a blessing to have someone like that as part of your team. I do not have the words to express what I am really feeling, but I hope the Riverside staff realizes what a gem you have. The type of compassion and care that she provides is much needed today, not just in the medical profession but in the world. And in the medical world, a patient is dealing with health concerns, among other things, so when you encounter someone with Victoria’s love of people and her job, I say praise the Lord. We need more of her kind. I really appreciate the compassion, optimism, and kindness shown to me on both my visits by Victoria. Again, I would like to say that the ability that Victoria has to provide care with such kindness is a testament to her commitment to her patients.
