Erica Stevenson is an incredibly special person who truly exemplifies what it means to be a servant leader. Whether she's offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or words of encouragement, Erica consistently puts the needs of her classmates before her own. She leads by example, and her humility, empathy, and unwavering willingness to support others help those around her reach their fullest potential. This kindness and generosity have been a constant source of strength for our cohort. I wholeheartedly believe Erica embodies all of Lakeview’s core values of adaptability, caring, excellence, integrity, and service. Without a doubt, she will continue to shine as a servant leader, modeling these qualities and demonstrating what it means to be an excellent nurse wherever her journey takes her.

Throughout her time at Lakeview, Erica has consistently demonstrated above and beyond care and compassion. I remember being so nervous for every lab and clinical in our first semester, overwhelmed by my lack of experience in healthcare and all the information we had to learn. Yet, I was never nervous to ask Erica for help. From the very beginning, she has always created a safe and welcoming space for me and my peers. She has always been more than willing to provide answers to any question and share her knowledge with others. At the same time, Erica never made anyone feel inferior, no matter their experience level, and was always willing to lend a hand where she could. This semester, she has continued to show her dependability and compassion by taking the time to speak with the incoming cohort of students, answering their questions, and sharing her wisdom, and she was even willing to switch her top-choice clinical site with another student. Erica consistently shows up for others and actively encourages the success of her peers. It is this spirit of care and compassion that will make Erica an extraordinary nurse wherever she goes and more than deserving of a DAISY Award.
