I would like to nominate the incredible Cedric, who cared for my husband in the Cardiovascular ICU following his bypass surgery. From the moment we arrived, his presence brought a sense of calm and confidence during one of the most frightening times of our lives.

CJ demonstrated extraordinary clinical skill and compassion every single shift. He took the time to explain every tube, monitor, and medication, not just to my husband, but to me as well, making sure we understood each step of the healing process. He treated my husband with dignity, constantly checking his pain, reassuring him, and encouraging him through the initial post-op discomfort and fear.

What made him stand out wasn't just the excellent care, but the way he made us feel like we weren't just another case. He remembered details, cracked the right jokes at the right times, and always made sure we felt heard. On top of managing a critically ill patient, he never seemed rushed, even while balancing his other responsibilities in the busy unit.

In the most vulnerable time of our lives, he was a steady hand and a kind heart. I cannot thank him enough for the care, humanity, and strength he showed to both of us. CJ is the definition of what a DAISY Nurse should be.
