Buffy demonstrates outstanding leadership and innovation in nursing education. As a dedicated nurse educator, she has made a lasting impact on professional development at Chilton Medical Center.

Buffy oversees clinical affiliations and played a pivotal role in launching Chilton’s first Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) on 5 West in partnership with Caldwell University. This innovative model enhances clinical education by immersing nursing students in a hospital unit, allowing them to learn alongside experienced nurses in a real-world environment.

Through consistent mentorship and hands-on experience, students build stronger clinical skills and confidence. The DEU has improved the transition from classroom to practice and strengthened the pipeline of well-prepared nurses, benefiting both students and the entire CMC care team.
