I am the Medical Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension program at BUMC, where Krishna is a care coordinator. She has a demanding job dealing with not just the chronic medical problem, but also insurance companies and frequent clinic visits. Krishna was also diagnosed with breast cancer when she started working with us. She works tirelessly, putting her patients first despite her personal life and busy schedule. She is empathetic, listens to patients and families. As a result, some of my difficult patients have established a great rapport with her, and when coming back for clinic visits, they are doing better. With her hard work and “yes, we can" attitude, she helps our team navigate the complexities of insurance denials and appeals. She consistently goes above and beyond her job, ensuring everything is taken care of. Recently, one of our patients was ill with COVID-19, and Krishna not only facilitated treatment but also checked on patients with multiple follow-up phone calls. Another patient appreciated Krishna’s efforts in arranging care needs while they were traveling and out of town. Krishna is witty, and it is a joy working with her. Our nursing leadership has received a patient's compliment on her efforts. Our pulmonary hypertension program recognizes her exemplary work.
