Leah climbed into my bed, held me, and asked me to tell her what was wrong. She stayed by my side until we came up with solutions.
When I had my first daughter in 2022, Leah was a nurse in the Mother-Baby unit. My daughter had a cleft palate. I didn't know anything about it. It was traumatizing for me, and Leah was always so calm and reassuring. She would help me ensure my daughter was eating and comfort me. One day, Leah came into my room, and I was having a meltdown. Leah climbed into my bed, held me, and asked me to tell her what was wrong. She stayed by my side until we came up with solutions. She advocated for me to have a pump to bring home and made sure we were okay. She showed me such kindness that I will never forget. Two years later, I had my second baby. All summer, I brought her to weighted feeds with me, and Leah was the lactation nurse in Venice. She has so much knowledge. She ensured my baby received proper nutrition and consistently advocated for us. Without Leah, I'm convinced neither of my girls would have had the same amount of breastmilk they received; her compassion, however, goes so far beyond any expectation. She is the most deserving nurse I know.
