Serena took great care of me for the three-night shifts that I was her patient while I was hospitalized. She continually made sure that I had everything I needed, even when I didn’t ask; she seemed to know my needs and met them well. When my son came to visit me, she could tell that he was upset about my health, so she was careful about what she said in front of him so he wouldn’t get even more upset. Serena is very knowledgeable and was able to answer all questions that my husband and/or I had about my health and care, the goals/plans about my healthcare while I was hospitalized. Since Serena worked overnights, she was very thoughtful of the rest I needed and, unless absolutely necessary, went out of her way to be very quiet and gentle so as not to wake me each time she checked on me throughout her shift. I know she checked on me often because I hardly slept at all, but it definitely wasn’t because of anything she could have done. Serena not only valued and cared about me as her patient, but because of her overall professional style, her immensely caring personality and demeanor, she made me feel respected, cared about, and valued as though I was a close friend or family member. I greatly appreciated Serena’s wonderful care to make a bad situation more bearable.
