There was always a smile on her face, along with a bundle of joy and compassion that came with it.
My grandmother was a patient for 14 days here at Encompass Health. Her stay followed her second stroke, which occurred within a short timeframe. It was a very stressful period, not only for my grandmother but also for me and my family. There were a lot of unknowns.

During her stay, my grandma began to show signs of anxiety and depression. I became very concerned for her well-being and contacted Kristen one-on-one to express what I had been noticing. Kristen immediately became concerned and truly listened to what I had to say. She told me she hadn’t noticed the same symptoms but would perform a depression evaluation to see if my grandmother was exhibiting signs.

Kristen made it a point to check on my grandmother often to make sure she was okay. There was always a smile on her face, along with a bundle of joy and compassion that came with it. She helped get my grandmother started on medication to ease the anxiety she was suffering from. She also took the time to organize all of her home supplements, jot them down, and submit them to the pharmacy for distribution.

Whenever my grandmother pressed her call light, Kristen would promptly show up to see what help was needed. She assisted my grandmother to the bathroom several times during the two days she was assigned as her nurse.

Kristen left such an extraordinary impression on me because of her overwhelming care and compassion that I brought her a bouquet to show my appreciation.

I hold the deepest gratitude for Kristen, who went above and beyond for the most important woman in my life, my Grandma.
