Keaira greets each patient with a smile. She has a very upbeat personality, cares deeply for all those around her, and demonstrates a true passion for the nursing profession. She has worked in various care areas within the hospital and is well known by patients, families, and many team members, having served in the community for several years.
Keaira wears multiple hats daily and has a strong rapport with everyone she interacts with. You’ll find her at the bedside in ASU or PACU, wearing a hat in the OR, starting an IV, assisting with a blood draw in PAT, participating in a Zoom or Teams committee, or providing education to other nurses whenever given the opportunity. You may even see her smiling face on the Clifton campus. She has a strong work ethic and consistently produces high-quality, evidence-based work that is well-documented and detailed.
Keaira’s care is wholehearted because the whole person matters. She has demonstrated this by resolving emotional situations, diffusing conflict, and interpreting verbal and nonverbal cues in a genuine manner that shows unconditional care, support, and concern for meeting another human’s needs. She has a gift for communication and collaboration, always facilitating what is best for the patient. I find her reliable and accountable, always following through on commitments.
Keaira is very easy to work with and encourages others to come together as a team. Her nature boosts team morale and productivity, and she never puts personal goals ahead of the greater good of the group. Her organizational skills ensure that projects run smoothly, even when she’s handling multiple responsibilities in a single day. She has done this not only at the local level but also at the system level.
Keaira has been a driving force in the surgical services department for patient safety and process improvements. She has proactively shared progress on all goals, led our CUSP team, promoted certification among team members, and assisted several peers with clinical ladder approval.
Keaira is committed to challenges and growth, not only at work but in her personal life as well. In the past year, she has welcomed a new addition to her family while continuing to give her all at work, balancing both her family and her profession with grace. I admire Keaira for her strength and find her an inspiration to tackle new challenges and grow further. You know that when you’re working with Keaira, you’re going to have a good day.
Keaira not only meets but often exceeds expectations, driving patient, family, individual, and team success. She is a nurse whose clinical skill, and especially her compassionate care, exemplify the kind of nurse our patients, their families, and our team members recognize as an outstanding role model. Her performance is exceptional. She is a strong leader, a great communicator, and someone who focuses on making the best of every day.
