To say that Danae made a significant difference in the life of a patient is an understatement.

Danae saved my son’s life. I think about her and say a prayer of thanks each time. My son was born with a heart defect, which was successfully repaired; however, he is still very vulnerable. He was in the hospital with the flu and pneumonia and experienced aspiration. This caused rapid desaturation, and Danae rushed in and began compressions.

The image of her climbing into his bed to perform the compressions is forever burned into my memory. After the event was over, Danae showed such compassion for me. She talked through everything that I had experienced and helped me process the trauma.

She even came to visit and hug my son the following week in the step-down unit.

Danae is our hero!
