Fran was also very responsive to our need as a family to have up-to-date data on my dad and willingly contacted the different teams that were caring for him so that they could visit and inform all of us of his progress and the next steps in his care.
While Fran was my dad’s nurse, she took the time to discuss his daily plan of care with all of us. She never acted as if she were too busy and was very helpful and attentive to my dad. Fran always made sure that she explained, not just what medication or intravenous products she was administering, but also their purpose so that my dad could make informed decisions about the care he received. This is what every nurse should do!

Once, when my dad had urine and bowel incontinence, she lovingly and thoroughly cleaned him all up. She also encouraged him to be mobile instead of sedentary by taking him for a walk down the corridor, even though it wasn’t her responsibility. Getting up out of bed was something that she always urged him to do. Fran also encouraged him to keep working with the physical therapy team so that he could get stronger for his discharge and upcoming chemotherapy. Fran was also very responsive to our need as a family to have up-to-date data on my dad and willingly contacted the different teams that were caring for him so that they could visit and inform all of us of his progress and the next steps in his care. After pulling up my dad's charts, she patiently analyzed and explained his ongoing weight and CMP data so that we as a family could understand his medical progress. We are all very pleased with the care she provided! She always had a positive attitude and demonstrated professionalism.
