My husband was understandably scared and emotional after his brain surgery for tumor removal, and Emily went above and beyond to make sure he was cared for. She held his shoulder and reassured him as he was hysterical, waiting for me to return to the room.

He had a lot of post-surgery stress, anxiety, and trauma, and Emily paid special care to help calm his nerves and his pain post-surgery. She knew exactly what to say and do to help calm him down, especially since he couldn’t use any calming meds post-surgery. Emily never dismissed his pain or ignored it. She simply listened to him and gave him great encouragement to help him get through it. It was almost as if she were a trained therapist, too.

I’ve never seen a nurse so gifted at showing their patients love and care. Not only was she extremely compassionate toward my husband, but she was toward me as well. Some nurses will forget about the spouse’s needs, but Emily listened to all of my concerns with patience and understanding. She was always quick to help and was willing to find any solution needed to make my husband and me feel better.

I had to come and go to take care of our baby, and I could not think of anyone else I would be more comfortable having my husband with than her. It gave me great comfort to know he was in such great hands.
