The nominator described Jen as “caring, patient, attentive, loving, and sweet in spirit.” Part of the nomination follows: “My husband was admitted to the oncology floor. Not only did she care for him so well, but she also went above and beyond for me. She saw me struggling and took time to sit with me, let me cry, and hug me. Not to mention the number of times she checked on me. When we were considering hospice, Jen was honest yet gentle in her approach, allowing me to get to that decision on my own time. She cared for us, but also shared herself – her reason for being in oncology, as well as her fur baby. It is a true testament of her character and a clear confirmation that she is doing what she has been called to do. She has a gift of mercy, which my husband also has.
