She is empathetic, adaptable, and dedicated to lifelong learning, but above all, she uplifts those around her.
Nomination 1:
From the moment you meet Becca Barron, her compassion and warmth are evident. She has a unique ability to connect with people on a personal level, creating a safe and supportive environment where nurses and care partners feel valued and heard. Whether it’s learning a coworker’s favorite book, celebrating team milestones, or checking in after a tough shift, Becca’s empathy fosters trust and psychological safety. This foundation allows her learners to grow with confidence, knowing they have her unwavering support.

Becca’s gift for communication is another hallmark of her practice. She listens deeply to the voices of frontline staff and uses their feedback to shape meaningful educational experiences. From learning needs assessments to one-on-one conversations during rounding, she ensures every perspective matters. When teaching, she has a way of transforming even the most complex material—such as cardiac/hemodynamics and EKG—into engaging, interactive sessions where learners not only understand the content, but also feel empowered to apply it at the bedside.

Others describe Becca as a role model who leads by example. She mentors new Nurse Professional Development Specialists, facilitates residency groups, and readily steps in to support her peers. Her adaptability shines when she modifies her teaching style to meet the diverse needs of learners, whether through interactive technology like Padlet, redesigning onboarding to be more welcoming, or creating small group sessions that make education personal and impactful.

Her passion for lifelong learning is contagious. Becca renewed her CCRN, completed Crucial Conversations training, co-chairs the Magnet Champions of Excellence, and attends national conferences such as NTI to bring fresh ideas back to her team. She provides clear expectations, constructive feedback, and encouragement that help learners grow into confident, capable nurses.

One of her most meaningful contributions has been fostering collaboration across teams. Recently, she led interdisciplinary feedback sessions that strengthened ICU nurses’ competence and confidence in caring for Impella patients. Through her efforts, what was once a daunting and anxiety-provoking care experience became one where nurses felt supported, knowledgeable, and capable. This kind of transformation speaks to Becca’s rare ability to bring out the best in others.

Nomination 2:

By honoring every voice and creating safe, engaging, and collaborative learning environments, she not only develops stronger nurses but also strengthens the culture of care at Wellstar. Becca’s heart for teaching and her unique humor give her the ability to inspire others, making her an extraordinary educator and a deserving recipient of this award.”

Nomination 3:
Becca is one of the educators at Wellstar Paulding Medical Center and imparts her vast clinical knowledge to the employees in the critical care areas. She stays focused and has fun while imparting Magnet knowledge to the group. She makes the participants feel comfortable and helps highlight their strengths while supporting the development of ‘Magnet Moments’ for each department.
