I took my teenage daughter to the ER for a possible UTI. She gave a urine sample but it was very busy and we left after a couple of hours of waiting. My daughter hates hospitals, needles, shots and basically everything medical related. Her symptoms got worse so we went back to the ER at 5am the next day. She started to feel light headed and nauseous after sitting in the waiting room for a few minutes so I went up to registration to tell them that we were going to leave and call her PCP instead. Tori was right there and said that my daughters urine from the night before showed an infection and asked if we could please stay. My daughter insisted on going outside for fresh air but I’m sure that Tori thought that she was just going to leave. Tori went and got Dr. G and they both came outside and took care of my daughter in front of the ER on the curb! Tori even brought the vitals cart outside and even registration came out. It truly warmed my heart and was the true definition of “meeting the patient where they are at”. I don’t know if I would have been able to get my daughter back inside and I am beyond thankful for Tori and Dr. G. Thank you for going above and beyond for my daughter and for being Baystate’s Best!!!
