Traci Wood went above and beyond during our unexpected week-long stay in Labor and Delivery after our gestational carrier's water broke at just 33 weeks. From the moment she entered the room, she treated us (my husband, my GC, and myself) as more than patients. She truly got to know us as people and walked beside us during one of the most uncertain, stressful times of our lives. Her reassurance, warmth, and ability to bring calm (and sometimes comedy) to the situation made all the difference.

Traci easily became our favorite nurse, and when it came time for induction, she selflessly picked up an extra shift so she could see our journey through and be there when our baby arrived. That act of dedication spoke volumes about her heart for nursing and her commitment to the families she serves. We placed our complete trust in her and felt supported, cared for, and genuinely comforted. While other nurses were kind, professional, and efficient, this nurse stood out among the crowd. She embodies the compassion, camaraderie, and confidence every patient hopes for in their care team, and we will forever be grateful for the role she played in our story. Nurses like Traci are rare, and she is more than deserving of this DAISY Award. Any healthcare system would be fortunate to have her.
