My preceptee and I were taking care of a very complex patient who required 1:1 care for several hours. However, the ED never stops, meaning that our other rooms in our assignment had patients who needed nursing care as well.

Aubrey did not hesitate to step in as our pod buddy and take over nursing care for our other patients. Aubrey was not only handling her own assignment, but also turned over our rooms several times, caring for at least five of our patients during the time we spent with our complex case.

Aubrey exemplified our service standards “Love me, Keep me Safe, Make it Easy, and Own it” by handling an immense patient care load, team nursing, and an incredibly positive attitude throughout the entire time, while constantly popping into our critical patient's room to offer her assistance.
