Mumtaz Flohr, an RN by profession, is truly an angel. I am so blessed to have her at our facility, directly caring for the most vulnerable patients on dialysis. 

She is an angel because when many hesitate to take care of patients with Left Ventricular Assistive Device (LVAD) patients and patients with special drips ( Dobutamine) in out patient settings, Mumtaz (Moon) under the guidance of her Medical Director admits these patients, trains the staff in her clinic on how to care for them and personally educates the patients, and families.

The level of care she provides is exceptional and high-quality, checking their BP with a Doppler in a busy dialysis unit and attending to every need as if the patient were a family member. Since she started working at the facility, the. Clinics' quality numbers are among the highest, and the mortality rate is significantly low. She goes above and beyond to coordinate care for these patients from the hospital, visits them in the hospital to alleviate their fears and answer any questions they or their family may have, and communicates with all specialists to provide the best possible care.

Waking up as early as 0200 to get to the facility at 0330 to dialyze patients and not leave much later into the night on some days; willingness to help not only her patients but also her peers; mentoring new managers; are just a few of the many things Mumtaz does as a nurse.

It is an honor and a privilege to work with such an outstanding nurse with such grit and passion!
