Nurse Jessie at Duke Regional Hospital was incredibly sweet and helpful with our newborn son. She patiently explained so many things to me and was a tremendous help with breastfeeding, taking the time to show me how to latch properly. Her guidance and support were amazing and made a significant difference in those early moments with our baby.

My wife had just given birth to our first baby boy, and even though we were filled with a rollercoaster of emotions, Jessie constantly went above and beyond to make us feel confident, at ease, and address all concerns and endless questions we threw at her. She was also very transparent, confident, calm, and positive with situations, whether they were good or bad, and extremely punctual every time we called and needed her. I am extremely grateful to have her as our nurse during the scariest and most exciting time of our lives. Thank you, Jessie! (If you ever want to babysit, name your price!)
3rd Nomination
From the moment I was placed in the recovery room after labor and delivery, Jessie made me feel very calm and reassured me with all the newness of being a first-time mom. Her support and passion for what she does made me feel at ease, and I was so happy that my family could be with her throughout our entire 48-hour stay! On the day of discharge, I had a scare with a large clot/remainder placenta trying to come out, and she was quick to respond with the care team and held my hand through it all until it was over and felt comfortable for her to leave. It’s the little things like this that made my experience with Jessie unforgettable. She provided wonderful care.

Jessie was hands down the most amazing nurse while we were here. She made sure we had everything we needed without smothering us with attention, which allowed us to bond with our newborn in a way that wouldn't have happened had a nurse always been hovering. She is simply spectacular.
