I only had to be monitored for a few hours, but just in that time, she left a lasting imprint on my heart.
I was sent to Antepartum from my OB office for some concerns about early contractions. I hide my feelings well, but I was a nervous wreck inside. My husband and I had been through a lot to finally have the privilege of carrying our daughter, and thoughts about her coming to the world earlier than she was ready for were overwhelming.
Carly was my nurse that day. Antepartum was very busy with so many patients, and Carly was pulled from L&D to help, but I never felt like my care was rushed at all. She gave me the individual attention I needed to ensure that my baby was being monitored accurately. She never made me feel like just another patient. She was kind, thoughtful, funny, and overall an incredible nurse. When she said she was coming back to check on me, she always did, despite how busy she was. I never felt forgotten about.
She even updated me after getting off the phone with my OB so that I would be kept well-informed throughout my stay there. She is incredible and deserves to be shown what a difference she makes. I pray that when the time comes for me to deliver my baby, she will be on the schedule that day and assigned to me. I only had to be monitored for a few hours, but just in that time, she left a lasting imprint on my heart. I will forever be thankful for her giving me the reassurance and care I needed.
