We had a patient who was struggling to improve. He was here for three weeks and felt very weak. He was no longer motivated to get out of bed. He was not working well with PT/OT. I was very concerned about this patient's future and overall trajectory.
That all changed when Kathryn assumed care of the patient. She was able to motivate him to get out of bed and into the chair and to feel strong enough not to want to lie in bed. He began working more with PT and OT. The patient I knew was completely changed after three shifts of incredible nursing care provided by Kathryn.
It was a privilege to take care of the patient with her, and seeing how strong he became and him becoming motivated to improve his health, I have to give so much credit to the nurse. I believe she alone truly changed his hospital outcome.
