I would like to recognize Emily Blevins for the extraordinary care and compassion she provided during one of the most vulnerable and emotional times of my life. From the moment she walked into the room, Emily brought a calming presence that made me feel seen, heard, and safe. Her gentle demeanor and steady voice helped ease my fears, especially in moments of uncertainty when things did not go according to plan. She remained calm, reassuring, and completely in control-even when I felt like everything was out of mine.

What made Emily stand out even more was the way she never made me feel like more than just a patient. From the very beginning, she treated me like a friend-someone she genuinely cared about and was there to support wholeheartedly. That connection, that warmth, made such a difference in my experience and helped me trust her completely.

Throughout my labor, she constantly checked in with me-not just physically, but emotionally. She explained every step with patience and kindness, never once making me feel rushed or overlooked. Even when I was scared, she looked me in the eye and told me, "You're doing great. We're going to be okay," and I believed her. Her confidence, empathy, and compassion made all the difference, and I truly feel so lucky that she was the nurse by my side on that life-changing day.

Emily is such an incredible human, and anyone would be so lucky to have her as their nurse. My favorite memory of our stay was when she asked us if we had picked out a name for our sweet baby boy, and when I gave her the two options, she immediately told me I looked like an Everett mom, and it sealed the deal on what I already felt in my gut was our beautiful boy’s name.

While Emily played an unforgettable role in my delivery, I also want to recognize the entire care team we encountered during our stay. From the postpartum nurses who anticipated our needs before we could voice them, to the lactation consultants and support staff who made sure we were comfortable and informed, every person brought warmth, knowledge, and genuine care.

I could not have asked for a better team to support my family and me during such a special and intense time. Emily exemplifies everything the DAISY Award stands for, and I will forever be grateful for the peace and strength she gave me when I needed it most.
