It’s so obvious that Cari loves her job deeply, and we truly felt that, and she was where she needed to be that weekend.
My wife had what felt like a pretty traumatic birth, with 26 hours of painful labor ending in an emergency C-section that I couldn’t go with her to. Everything was moving so fast, and I was so concerned about whether my wife was going to be ok, and in less than 10 minutes, I went from a room full of people and doctors talking to a completely silent nursery with my newborn and no one else, wondering if my wife was okay.
Cari was the one who had spent some time with my newborn and me just to check if I was ok. Cari helped me cut her umbilical cord, helped reassure me that my wife was recovering, helped show me that my newborn was here and healthy, and just checked in on me repeatedly. Even after I was reunited with my wife and she was on her way to recovery, Cari was our nurse and gave us so much advice and care.
It’s so obvious that Cari loves her job deeply, and we truly felt that, and she was where she needed to be that weekend. We are eternally grateful for Cari. She even sews little mitts for newborns to wear and gave us some for free. Cari was also deeply knowledgeable about lactation and helped get my wife on the right track for nursing as a new mom. This was extremely beneficial in the first few days as we were learning how to care for our newborn.
This is Cari's 2nd DAISY Award!
