I would like to recognize Hannah Sherman for the DAISY Award for the extraordinary care, kindness, and compassion she has shown our mother/beloved wife/and granny during a deeply difficult time for our family. Hannah was our night shift nurse during her hospitalization.

We were in the process of transitioning her to home hospice, an emotional and overwhelming journey. Hannah met us in that space with such grace. She cared for my mom with a rare blend of skill and gentleness, treating her with dignity, respect, and an attentiveness that went beyond the expected. She didn’t just provide excellent medical care; she created a sense of peace in the room. Her calm presence brought comfort in the middle of the night when things felt most uncertain. She spoke to my mom kindly, even when my mom couldn’t always respond, and she made sure our family felt heard and supported every step of the way.

In a time when we were feeling raw and vulnerable, Hannah was a light. She exemplifies the spirit of nursing at its best, and we are so grateful to her. She deserves recognition for her compassion, professionalism, and heart. Thank you, Hannah, from the bottom of ours.
