I am deeply moved to share my experience because, despite how difficult everything was, I was fortunate to cross paths with someone like Anita and the team during my hospitalization. I was admitted due to severe polytrauma, with multiple fractures and ligament injuries. They were two very hard months in the hospital, and today I continue attending follow-up appointments at the Hospital del Trabajador.

From the very beginning, Anita was part of an outstanding group of professionals, but the way she showed up and supported me stood out in a very special way. At first, I didn’t fully understand the severity of my situation. I kept asking over and over what they were doing to me and why, feeling afraid and confused. She and the team always responded with patience, but it was especially Anita who maintained an admirable consistency. Even as the weeks passed and I still couldn’t fully grasp everything, she continued to be there, with professionalism and humanity, taking care of every detail.

I remember fondly—and now even with a laugh—how she insisted on giving me a bath at five in the morning every time she was on shift. Today, I see it as one of those unforgettable stories. We spent two months sharing this journey. On my hardest days, when everything felt uphill, and on the days when small improvements appeared, she was there with the same warm and excellent care. She took care of my physical well-being, but also my emotional well-being. She always had a word of encouragement, a smile, a sign that I wasn’t alone in this.

Now, looking back, all I can feel is gratitude. Thank you, Anita, for your dedication, for never giving up, for treating me with respect, for your professionalism, and for your immense humanity. These words come from the deepest part of my heart. The universe gave me the gift of meeting you and living this experience with your presence as my companion.
