Even though Lea wasn’t there for the actual delivery, the role she played in our birth story is unforgettable.
I was admitted to the hospital to be induced for the birth of my baby. As a first-time mom, I was feeling nervous, overwhelmed, and unsure of what to expect. From the moment my labor and delivery nurse walked into the room, everything changed. Lea immediately brought a calm, reassuring energy that helped ease my fears and made me feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for.
Lea was everything you could hope for in a nurse: incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, patient, and kind. She explained every step of the process in a way that was easy to understand, answered every question with empathy and without judgment, and anticipated my needs before I even had to ask. Lea was calm but confident, and her presence made me feel safe.
What stood out most was the way she cared — it wasn’t just clinical, it was deeply human. Lea spoke to me with compassion when I needed reassurance. She treated me like more than just a patient — she treated me like a person going through one of the most vulnerable and meaningful moments of her life.
When her shift ended, both my husband and I felt a genuine sadness to see her go. Lea had become such a grounding presence during the beginning of labor, and her support meant more to us than words can express.
Even though Lea wasn’t there for the actual delivery, the role she played in our birth story is unforgettable. I am so thankful she was part of that experience. She represents the absolute best of what nursing can be.
