Kaitlyn embodies what it means to be an exceptional nursing leader. She is knowledgeable, collaborative, compassionate, and deeply committed to continuous improvement.
I proudly nominate Kaitlyn for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. She is the true embodiment of compassion, dedication, and integrity in nursing practice. A true role model for future and current nurses, day in and day out, literally 24/7. She goes above and beyond for both her patients and her team. And I want to emphasize 24/7, I have witnessed her being available in the middle of the night, so her staff felt supported. She is selfless in that way. Always thinking of others, otherwise known as her children. Although she may not always be at the bedside in her current role, her impact is felt throughout the unit. She works tirelessly to make sure patients receive exceptional care, and she advocates passionately for both the patients and her staff. She shows up for her team in every way possible as a mentor, a problem solver, a patient advocate, and heck, even a therapist at times. Her commitment to this job is inspiring. Thank you for all you do. Your hard work doesn't go unnoticed and is much appreciated, as you have been a source of strength through the many seasons this floor has been through.

It is my genuine pleasure to nominate Kaitlin. Kaitlin consistently demonstrates exceptional leadership, clinical expertise, and unwavering dedication to patient safety, making her an invaluable asset to inpatient nursing into the hospital as a whole.
As the clinical nurse educated for the inpatient setting, Kaitlyn has an incredible ability to translate complex clinical information into practical, meaningful education for staff. She approaches every initiative with clarity, patience, and a deep commitment to ensuring that nurses feel supported and empowered in their practice. Her influence extends far beyond routine education. She actively strengthens the culture of learning, elevates clinical standards, and instills confidence among the nurses she supports.
One of Kaitlyn's most impactful contributions has been her leadership during the transition to the new heparin workflow. This process required a strong clinical understanding, consistent communication, and the ability to guide nurses through a change involving a high-risk medication. Kaitlyn quickly became the go-to subject matter expert, learning every detail of the new workflow and ensuring that staff across the hospital understood not only how to follow the process but also why each step mattered for patient safety. Her dedication played a role in reducing confusion, preventing errors, and strengthening interdisciplinary teamwork.
Her partnership with the pharmacy department has been especially appreciated. Kaitlyn consistently reaches out for clarification and seeks alignment and ensure that educational messaging supports the safety standards and workflows the pharmacy relies on. She has truly become a trusted collaborator and a tremendous benefit to our department. We frequently receive positive feedback from staff who feel more confident in their upbringing practice because of her guidance, and her work has directly contributed to smoother communication and safer medication management across the inpatient floors.
Beyond her clinical expertise, Caitlin brings a warm, steady, and approachable leadership style that naturally inspires others. She is thoughtful, proactive, and generally invested in improving the care experience for both patients and staff.
