Patients benefit from Gretchen's compassionate, skillful practice of medicine, and Team Utah/Oregon benefits from her commitment to teamwork and owning the solution.
Gretchen's primary role is CPE, but she goes above and beyond despite personal tragedy and injury to fill any gap needed for our markets. Whether she serves the role of APP, acting CD, educator, team member, cheerleader, or secretary, she always prioritizes the needs of the team over her own needs.

In the past one year Gretchen has persevered despite numerous problems including her daughter in law having a complicated pregnancy (but luckily gave birth to a healthy baby), her mother getting surgery which resulted in her mom being placed on hospice and subsequently dying, dealing with complicated family relationship issues following her mother's death, falling and breaking her leg while traveling to see a patient, and more recently, retinal detachment causing blindness (hopefully temporary) in one eye. Gretchen does more than "show up." She engages fully and participates in a way that brings passion and meaning to all that we do.

Gretchen leads with a "patient first" mentality and lives the WellBe values every day. She is a trusted, valuable member of our team and is being recognized for her hard work and dedication. Patients benefit from Gretchen's compassionate, skillful practice of medicine, and Team Utah/Oregon benefits from her commitment to teamwork and owning the solution. Gretchen fell while traveling to see a patient. Rather than cancelling the visit, she hobbled into the home and completed the visit, only to learn that she did, in fact, break her leg.

Over the following weeks, she continued to provide excellent patient care despite being on crutches. Although Gretchen was vulnerable with the local leadership team and shared how hard it was to continue to see patients while using crutches, she never wavered in front of patients or the other team members. She prioritized team needs over her own.

Gretchen is the Energizer Bunny! As a CPE, she has helped both the Utah and Oregon markets by seeing patients and making sure that HEDIS gaps are closed and needed care is given to patients. She is the epitome of putting team and patients before self. She has continued to serve our patients in the face of tremendous personal adversity.

She is tenacious in helping patients get the care they need and helping educate APPs to help deliver the best care possible. Without Gretchen, both the Oregon and Utah Markets would not survive. I am proud to have her on our team as a colleague and friend! Gretchen has volunteered to be our HEDIS "Star Czar" and complete asynchronous visits with facilitators to help close HEDIS gaps.
