When Carlee said she would find out, she did not forget to find out and came back with information. She was what held us together and got us through this very hard time.
Carlee is an amazing nurse and person. My mother had been through a lot. Admitted for chest pain that led to a very difficult pacemaker placement, attempted on the left, then finally placed on the right. Double pneumothorax afterward, many days in ICU, then PCU. Mom was discharged and was readmitted the next day after her discharge.
Our family was frazzled after 12 days in the hospital and at our wits' end trying to help our Mom recover. Carlee was the nurse when Mom was readmitted, and Mom could not walk or stand. Carlee was upbeat, listened to our concerns about everything, and acted on our behalf to care for our Mom. She made us feel heard and valued. She was very knowledgeable and confident. Carlee put us at ease with her honest, direct, compassionate care. She went above and beyond with explanations of what things meant, what the next steps in care were, and always kept us informed when things changed. You can tell by her attitude that she loves what she does, and she truly cares about the stressed, confused, and scared family as well as the patient she is caring for.
We have been blessed to have her assigned to our Mother's care on more than one visit. She was never rushed with us, and every question, no matter how small, was answered. She made sure the family was comfortable and had everything they needed while staying in the room with my Mom. No request was too big. When Carlee said she would find out, she did not forget to find out and came back with information. She was what held us together and got us through this very hard time. I wish she were always the nurse assigned when my Mom is in the hospital. She is amazing.
