To steal a quote from a favorite show, "the dictionary defines superlative as of the highest kind, quality, or order supreme." I define it as Abi smiles.

As a nurse, a leader on our floor, a person, a friend, she is the greatest. In a recent mix-up, I was nominated and received a DAISY Award, but the names were mixed up, and she was to be awarded. Instead of turning a blind eye and accepting the award, she went out of her way continually to make sure I got the award. She knew it was for me and didn't stop until the error was corrected.

So many others would have kept the award for themselves, but she did what was right, even when no one would have known. She always goes out of her way to help others, whether it is with patient care, education, directions around the hospital, or just checking in on a friend. Abi goes above and beyond to ensure her patients and families are happy and comfortable. She brings a happy calmness that is uniquely her own everywhere she goes.

Abi is a "crown straightener," always making sure to lift up those around her, regardless of what is going on in her work life or personal life. She does the most good she possibly can and never asks for praise or recognition. She is one of the greatest people I know and one of the best nurses I have ever met. She is a blessing to all around her. She could not be more deserving of this award. In all aspects, she is superlative of the highest kind, quality, and order supreme. It was an honor to be confused with someone of such impeccable character and kindness. Love you, Abi!
