Mady exemplifies a truly compassionate nurse and one who advocates for her patients, even when it is hard. She had a patient who had a devastating brain injury, one where the patient had some awareness but could not move and was "locked in."

This was really hard for the patient's family, especially because she had been planning on getting married to her fiancé, and they wouldn't be able to have a ceremony. Mady learned of this and was determined to provide a special ceremony for them. She helped the patient get ready, made sure she looked beautiful, and even went above and beyond by providing rings for the wedding. It was such a beautiful, bittersweet occasion, one that will certainly be remembered by her family as one of her last moments with them, and without her nurse to assist, it wouldn't have been as special.

Mady also worked very hard to advocate for that patient to provide her with a dignified death in her room with her family surrounding her, one that we wish for all of our dying patients. Mady is an exceptional nurse who provides the most compassionate care.
