This is simply a special appreciation and recognition of a staff member who went well above and beyond what was required of her.
This delightful nurse goes way above and beyond to not only meet the needs of her patients but also anticipate their needs and fulfill them at the earliest possible opportunity, adding to their comfort and well-being. My granddaughter was hospitalized with a severe bacterial kidney infection that was resistant to multiple antibiotics. She was in severe pain, unable to eat due to extreme nausea and a hairsbreadth from septic shock.

All the nurses on the unit were short-staffed and constantly on the go. Regardless, Shreya managed to consistently get her pain meds to her within a few minutes of request, check on her constantly, provide heat packs just as we were about to request them, and provide dry sheets and gowns as soon as she was drenched with perspiration, along with the bath wipes to make her feel human. Although her pain meds were prescribed as needed, Shreya was aware of her escalating pain level by monitoring her vital signs and actually had it available at the time she asked for it.

Some of the other nurses took up to 45 minutes, during which time the pain became unbearable. Please understand this is not a complaint about the other nurses. I understand it is not possible to be in two rooms at once, and the nursing shortage is real. Overall, we were very pleased with the care we received. This is simply a special appreciation and recognition of a staff member who went well above and beyond what was required of her.

Please allow me one last example: There were a couple of nightsmy granddaughter was not on Shreya's rotation, yet she still found time to check in on her to make sure she was ok. What an extraordinary nurse!
