I am nominating Marcella Schiller for the DAISY Award because of the exceptional care and kindness I received during my recent visit to the Emergency Department. What started as a scary and stressful experience quickly turned into one where I felt completely cared for, thanks to Marcella.

I unexpectedly had to come to the ER for a laceration involving my lip. From the moment Marcella entered the room, I felt at ease. Marcella explained everything that was going to happen and answered all my questions with patience and respect. Marcella's gentle approach and professionalism helped turn what could have been a very uncomfortable and anxious experience into one that actually left me grateful for the care I received. It wasn't just the clinical skill that stood out; it was the compassion.

Marcella took the time to make sure I was comfortable, checked in on my pain level, and even gave me practical advice for wound care at home. Their genuine empathy and kindness made a lasting impression on me. I left the ER feeling not only physically cared for but also emotionally supported. Marcella truly went above and beyond, and I can see why they are so valued by both patients and colleagues. They are the perfect example of what the DAISY Award represents: excellence in nursing through compassion, skill, and humanity.
