During my recent hospitalization at Baptist Medical Center Beaches, I was grateful for the excellent care I received from all the doctors, nurses, and CNAs. However, one individual truly stood out. Chris is a member of the third-floor nighttime nursing staff. Chris demonstrated a genuine interest and concern in my medical situation and consistently went above and beyond his responsibilities. His calm demeanor and compassion helped ease my mind during a very frightening time. What made the greatest impression was his continued kindness and follow-up: this nurse stopped by my room multiple times, even when I was not his patient, and even after completing long shifts, simply to check on my well-being. Those gestures spoke volumes about his character and his commitment to patient care.

In my opinion, Chris exemplifies the very best attributes of the nursing profession. He is a skilled professional, but what sets him apart is his ability to truly connect with patients. His compassion, attentiveness, and genuine kindness made a significant difference for my family and me during a stressful and difficult experience. As his coworker, I have had the privilege of witnessing how he consistently goes above and beyond not only for his patients but also for our entire team. Chris approaches each patient interaction with genuine empathy and kindness. He takes the time to listen, explain, and reassure, no matter how busy the day gets. His patients feel seen, heard, and cared for on a deeply personal level. I have seen him stay late to comfort a worried family member or check in on a patient long after his shift has ended, simply because he cares.

Beyond his patient care, Chris is a constant source of support to the rest of us.
