During my hospital stay, my nurse Alaura demonstrated an exceptional blend of clinical expertise and curiosity. She explained every step of my care, from the medications being administered to the details of my procedure. She shared that whenever a doctor orders something she’s unfamiliar with, she makes a point to ask “why” so she can learn and provide the best care possible — a true commitment to growth. Her confidence with my nephrostomy tube was remarkable, and she took the time to thoroughly educate my husband on how to flush, change, and care for it. She delivered all this information with clarity, humor, and an attention to detail that put us both completely at ease.
Compassionate Care:
She brought equal parts compassion and laughter into every interaction, sensing our emotions and responding with reassurance and kindness. She addressed my post-procedure discomfort with creativity and determination, even cutting a barf bag to fit over my IV so I could shower comfortably.
