My grandfather’s condition has actually improved when Steven has been around, and it’s clear that the care and attention he receives from him makes a difference in his well-being.
My grandfather was admitted to the hospital in late October, and at first, his health was steadily declining. During that time, Steven became an absolute lifeline for our family. From the start, he made sure we were always kept in the loop, providing updates to every family member who came into the room. He explained everything thoroughly, making sure that no one left with unanswered questions.
His ability to translate complex medical terms into simple, easy-to-understand language has been a godsend, especially since about 90% of my family speaks Spanish. Steven didn’t just offer a quick translation; he took the time to go over everything repeatedly, without ever showing frustration. His patience and care for my family have been extraordinary. What stands out most about Steven is not just his working cowboy boots but how deeply he cares for my grandfather, almost as though he were his own family.
He treated my grandfather with the utmost respect and kindness, always considering his comfort and dignity. In such a stressful and emotional time, Steven offered invaluable advice, reminding us to lean on each other and take care of ourselves as we support my grandfather. His words were not only a comfort but a grounding presence that helped us remember what really matters. On several occasions, when I asked for small things like towelettes to refresh my grandfather, Steven went above and beyond. He brought a whole pack, helped clean my grandfather, and even volunteered to give him a bath, something we couldn’t have done without his assistance. It was a simple act, but it meant the world to us.
