Dr. Gless has defeated the myth that nursing school instructors are unreasonably tough and rely heavily on students to teach themselves. He has truly been called to be not only a nurse but also an educator. He has excelled in becoming strongly proficient in his field, and he has excelled in finding methods to explain material in a way that makes it easier for students to understand and retain the material.

Not only is he an educator, but he is also the success coach for the LVN program and ADN program at Kilgore College. A success coach is someone who helps guide students to better study habits and testing strategies. He truly pours his heart into his school, career, and above all, his students. He is not only a nurse, instructor, and success coach, but he is also a role model and mentor. 

He is not only helping students pass but also molding them into nurses who will provide evidence-based, patient-centered care while maintaining a therapeutic environment where patients are met with empathy and compassion. I feel more confident in my nursing practice as a student and in my future practice as a nurse because of his leadership. He is most deserving of recognition for his dedication and commitment to the nursing profession and his career as a nursing instructor.
