I had faith in a lady who took time to get to know my story and meet my family.
DAISY Nominations For Beth Dexter. She had 6 nominations during the nomination period before our first DAISY award ceremony, and the first one listed was the one that the team voted on as the winner.

“Finding Nurse Beth”- Leaving the hospital made me nervous, as I had been very sick and wasn’t sure I was ready. Then I showed up, and Beth was there to greet me and assure me. Everything she told me was on point. My kids never had to bring me another thing. Beth made my family happy. First, I was suffering from the most painful headaches, and she had my meds right on time. I wasn’t used to that and had suffered hours for no reason before. This helped me to heal as fast as I have. I had faith in a lady who took time to get to know my story and meet my family. Speaking highly of me to my son and grandson. My grandson said he was impressed with Beth, too. He is, and I’m on Beth’s Team! He is 8 years old. R would want to see Beth on a stage getting the DAISY Award. I was thinking earlier today about what kind of gift I could get for Beth when I leave. This would be great! I’ll find my own award too. A gift for a winner. I noticed how the Dr’s and other nurses need, depend on, and respect Beth. After 48 years of nursing, most might be burned out. Not Beth. Her light has not dimmed. It is still burning bright. I am so happy our paths have crossed!!! My vote is for Beth!

All my nurses have been so nice and so responsive to my needs. They helped me in every way possible. I am picking Beth as my extraordinary nurse. She is such a positive and upbeat person. Her positivity and cheerful, upbeat personality are contagious. Her sense of humor and her smiling face, her bubbly personality come out through her eyes. My grandmother had the same qualities; it was hard to believe she was as old as she was because her inner little girl came through. Beth reminded me, because Mamaw has been dead so long, that you don’t have to let them beat you up so bad, make you less than happy, make you negative and bitter. If we could all learn from them, what a better and happier world we would live in. It’s so hard to be negative when you see and feel love coming from someone you are around for any amount of time.

My husband’s stay at Encompass was great! He received wonderful care! Beth was one of the many healthcare professionals to take care of them. She was very compassionate and very professional. She spent as much time with him as she could, talking and listening to him. We were very grateful to have such a beautiful person watching over him.

Throughout my stay here, I have had many ups and downs, but nurse Beth has come through almost every time to reassure me, calm me, make me laugh, and help me feel safe. There were times when I doubted why I was even here. Beth consistently made me feel so at home and like people truly cared about my mental and physical well-being.

I had my leg amputated above the knee and was pretty depressed one day, more so than others. Well, when Beth came into my room, she noticed that something wasn’t right with me, and I told her how I was feeling. She then proceeded to let me know that I was getting stronger than I realized and told me that I could do this. She told me an inspirational story of her sister, who was an amputee, and it lifted my spirits. She is always going out of her way to make sure I have everything I need when I am ready to go home. She doesn’t mind giving hugs when I need them or just lending an ear to listen. She is truly amazing.
