I had an outpatient heart ablation procedure to correct recurring episodes of supraventricular tachycardia. The procedure was performed and, to date, has proven to be completely curative. I write to share my positive experience with every Swedish staff member we interfaced with. From the time we presented ourselves at reception, through the check-in process, pre-procedure preparation, and post-procedure observation, each nurse, nurse practitioner, certified nursing assistant, and administrator was courteous, kind, polite, and warm. Although each of the professionals we met on that day was wonderful, I must express special appreciation to David Bilz, RN.

David attended to me post check-in and throughout the pre-procedure process. David exhibits the perfect temperament for a nurse working with pre-procedure patients. Although the consummate professional, his warmth throughout the process made what could have been a rather scary situation quite comfortable. Of special note – David took on the role of “host,” ensuring that each time a new person interfaced with me, David was there to introduce them and perform a seamless handoff, always making sure that my needs were attended to and that any questions my wife had were answered. I’ve come to expect excellence from Swedish personnel. That’s really the baseline your staff has set. David exceeded that and should be commended for it. Please pass my good thoughts along to David and let him know that the effort he puts into his job is appreciated.
