Professor Joseph displays her enthusiasm, which motivates us (her students) every day. Every day, no matter what happened before class, she comes in with a smile for us. She puts her all into teaching by thinking of complex questions, bringing in items from home to display, and creating activities for us to keep us engaged. Also, anytime we express our anxiety about situations such as clinical or practicum, she proceeds to tell us the positive side of things to relieve our stress and encourages us to keep going.

Professor Joseph modifies her teaching to accommodate the class's learning styles. She takes time to listen to us about what we prefer better and what didn't work for us. By the time we come to class the next day, she has already created a new layout to learn the next topic. She also creates learning games in her personal time for us to play during class to keep us engaged. If any of us has a hard time grasping the content, she slows down and explains in many different ways until we understand. She asks multiple questions throughout the class to make us critically think and connect lines between different topics. If any of the students fail an exam, she gives us a pep talk afterwards.

Professor Joseph serves as a role model by providing the compassion and knowledge that define the nursing profession. She is willing to take the time to teach us in-depth while also inspiring us to think critically. Professor Joseph goes beyond teaching as an educator - she allows us time to laugh and enjoy school, which makes the overall nursing school stress worthwhile. With a role model like Professor Joseph, I have been inspired to return and continue my education in 2026 and go as far as I can in hopes of inspiring and leading others one day, just like her.
