I received a call from one of my Community Health Assistants in Yoegarlee Town that a pregnant woman suddenly dropped and died. I immediately rushed there and met everyone. Some were crying, while others were making arrangements for her burial.

The patient in question happens to be a patient who has been under my care. For the past three months, she had developed high blood pressure. She and her family have been counseled for the above-mentioned condition and advised to travel closer to the hospital until she is ready to give birth.  No action was taken by the patient or her family due to a lack of transportation.

I requested to see the body. After my assessment, I realized that she was not dead but in a coma. I quickly walked out to the family and informed them about my findings that she is alive and we need to take her to the hospital immediately. Preparation was made for transportation, and we took her to the hospital in time, where she underwent a C-section.

The operation was successful, and the mother and child survived because I was there in time to make necessary arrangements to save her life and the life of her baby girl.
