Although difficult to express in words, it feels to me like it would be an injustice to Madison not to try. Checking into a place of this nature (New Vision) can be a frightening and haunting experience, but the nurse taking care of me was compassionate, on top of her job, very patient, polite, and knowledgeable, and turned out to be a shining light in what can and usually is a dark place. Her sense of humor is absolutely priceless. Being made to laugh while here, by your nurse of all people, was also priceless and very welcome. It made my stay just that much easier, and for that I am very thankful. She never once got impatient or aggravated with my repeated nurse calls, which put me at ease, and I did not hesitate to push the button again. I am sure I’m forgetting things, even in just a few short days, but the personal stories and experiences we got into were just icing on the cake - good, sweet, and nourishing. A lot of her experiences were a mirror image of my own, and therefore, I unexpectedly gained a wealth of knowledge and insight that will help me navigate my integration back into my home and family, and also help a lot as I continue my recovery. She nailed so many points that I needed to hear/learn that I didn’t even realize I needed that; it just seemed unreal. Thank you, Madison, for your kindness, patience, help, making me laugh, and the invaluable advice that you shared and taught me. I’ll never forget it or you yourself. You seem to be doing more of a calling than a job. Keep up the great work and I hope and believe the lord will bless your future. You deserve it!
