INTEGRITY:
I could always rely on the information Sharon provided on the status of my wounded toe. If she did not know all the answers, she never hesitated to consult with other experts and make sure they met with me.
COMMITMENT:
Sharon let both me and my wife( C.) know she was there to answer our questions anytime, and she made sure we had the contact information we needed.
ADVOCACY:
Sharon was always willing to contact other specialty areas within the VA that could help reach a solution to my infection. She helped set up appointments and also had specialists come to our clinic appointments to see my wound and provided input on ways to get my toe wound to heal when the current treatment was not responding.
RESPECT: My wife, C, and I always felt comfortable describing our experiences in attempting to heal the toe infection. She always showed interest and genuine concern, and never made us feel like we were taking up her time with silly questions.
EXCELLENCE:
It was very clear that Sharon was very knowledgeable in treating foot wounds. She was especially good at explaining why various steps were being taken, and if needed, she never hesitated to reach out to other areas within the VA to find and recommend additional steps and/or procedures that might help resolve the infection.
In summary, Sharon's knowledge and technical skill, in combination with her demonstrated desire to help in any way she could to resolve our concerns and reach the best possible outcome regarding my foot infection, very much helped us during several months of trying times and concerns about suffering greater impairment to my foot and possible decline in mobility
