John is an outstanding nurse and brings so much value to the department. We had a patient come to MRMC for Abdominal pain, and John is very attentive to all of his patients, but he noticed right away when this patient returned from CT that she had an abrupt change in mental status and activated a Code Stroke. John was correct, and the patient had a large head bleed. His quick thinking and attention to detail saved his patient's life. This patient came in with a completely different chief complaint, and then, because of John's being attentive, she was caught in real time and diagnosed with a head bleed. John brings out the best in his team and me. The patient was flown to Memorial Hermann immediately, and her life was saved. He exemplifies brilliance and compassion, and he is a role model.
