Because of Brittany, our family experienced hospice not as something to fear, but as something marked by dignity, kindness, and love.
I am writing to express my deepest gratitude and strongest professional endorsement for Ms. Brittany Pierce, who served as my mother-in-law's nurse this past year. I want you to know, clearly and unequivocally, that Brittany’s care was extraordinary, and that our family could not have made it through this year without her.
In particular, I want to commend the unbelievable care and concern that Brittany provided for my mother-in-law during an incredibly difficult year. From the very beginning, she distinguished herself not only through her clinical and medical expertise, but through her presence, responsiveness, and genuine compassion.
She showed up for us time and again, late evenings, early mornings, weekends, and moments when we felt overwhelmed and unsure. On more than one occasion, she adjusted her schedule or came in outside normal hours simply because she knew we needed reassurance and her steady, compassionate guidance and support.
What set Brittany apart was not only what she did, but how she did it. She brought calm into moments of fear, clarity into moments of uncertainty, and kindness into moments of deep pain. She has an intuitive ability to balance medical excellence with emotional intelligence, addressing symptoms with impressive knowledge and skill while also caring for her as a person, with dignity, warmth, and respect.
My mother-in-law loved Brittany. That matters more than I can put into words. In a time when comfort, trust, and reassurance were everything, Brittany became a source of peace for her. For us, Brittany was a steady presence we relied on deeply. She answered questions patiently, anticipated needs before we knew to ask, and supported us not only as caregivers, but as family members anticipating grief.
Brittany consistently went above and beyond, and she did so quietly, humbly, and without ever making it feel like a burden. She carried not only medical responsibility, but emotional weight, doing so with steadiness, empathy, and grace. Her professionalism, generosity of spirit, and commitment never wavered, even during the most challenging moments of her final weeks.
In Brittany, you have a rare jewel. She is the kind of employee every organization hopes to find, but few are fortunate enough to have such an exceptionally skilled, deeply caring, emotionally attuned, and profoundly dedicated employee. She is not only an outstanding hospice nurse; she is a shining light and a living example of what compassionate care should be.
Because of Brittany, our family experienced hospice not as something to fear, but as something marked by dignity, kindness, and love. She is a serious reason why St. Bernards is so highly valued and why its reputation for excellence is so well deserved.
I hope you will recognize Brittany in whatever ways are available to you. Her care represents the very best of hospice nursing, and her impact on our family is lasting and something we will never forget. Thank you for sharing her with us.
