I can say without hesitation that he is an extraordinary example of excellence in nursing education.
Matt Anderson embodies the spirit of the DAISY Award through his kindness, intentional mentorship, and Christ-centered leadership. I can say without hesitation that he is an extraordinary example of excellence in nursing education. He inspires learning by creating meaningful, hands-on educational experiences, such as leading the Mass Casualty Incident Simulation team and facilitating the Global and Public Health experience in Spain.
As the lead planner for the Mass Casualty Incident Simulation, Matt oversees a team of four faculty members and five student teaching assistants. He leads this team with structure and compassion, mentoring each TA individually. This personalized guidance helps each student grow in confidence, clinical skills, and leadership ability.
I have also had the opportunity to work closely with him in Spain as part of the Global and Public Health program. During this time, I witnessed even more deeply the strength of his character and his unwavering commitment to students. His willingness to organize and lead several cultural activities, as well as openly share his testimony of the Savior, combined with his genuine kindness and humility, fosters a spiritually rich and emotionally safe learning environment.
Working with Matt inspires me to be a better person and a better educator. He is truly an example of what it means to teach with heart, lead with purpose, and serve with love.
