Her compassion, patience, and steady presence have truly made a difference in my healing and not just physically, but emotionally. I will never forget how she showed up for me during this experience.
When I came in, terrified, in pain, and unsure of what the next days would look like, Hannah immediately made me feel safe. I was overwhelmed, scared, and in so much pain that I could barely think straight. From the moment Nurse Hannah Delgado walked into my room, something in me relaxed.
She didn't just check my vitals or change my dressings; she saw me. She talked to me like a real person who was going through something traumatic, and she treated me with a level of kindness and calm that I desperately needed in that moment. She explained every step of my care in a way that made me feel informed instead of afraid. The night before my skin graft surgery, I was anxious and emotional, and she sat with me, answered every question, and reassured me in a way that made me feel grounded again. She didn't rush, she didn't dismiss me, she cared.
There were moments when I felt completely vulnerable, but Hannah made me feel safe and supported. She checked on me constantly, made sure my pain was managed, and even comforted my family when they were worried. Her compassion, patience, and steady presence have truly made a difference in my healing and not just physically, but emotionally. I will never forget how she showed up for me during this experience. Hannah has a rare gift for nursing, and I am so thankful God put her in my path during this time. She is the definition of an extraordinary nurse.
P.S. Thank you, Hannah, for straightening the back of my hair when I couldn't reach!
