From receiving Chemo, I was having mouth sores, and Cassie went the extra mile in 3 ways to help me heal and prevent future mouth sores:
1. She thoroughly examined my mouth and confirmed, yes, you have mouth sores, it's not Thrush.
2. She looked at my bottle of Magic Mouthwash and told me it was too old to still be working, and I needed to get a new refill ( I had no idea there was a shelf life limit) (I had been using the original bottle for 5 days, without success ... once I got the new bottle, the mouth sores improved within 2-3 days, just like she said they would)
3. After a future Chemo, I suggested I should start using the Magic Mouthwash right away, as a preventive to not get mouth sores. She pondered that for a moment and suggested NO, I should use the recommended Soda-Salt mixture (after brushing my mouth/teeth), 5 times a day, as a preventive measure, and only if I then get mouth sores should I use the fresh Magic Mouthwash .... no need to use a prescription medicine, if can use the soda/salt rinse as a preventive measure.
Cassie's advice was spot-on in both of these examples. My existing mouth sores healed quickly, and the preventive advice after a future Chemo worked too. I never got the mouth sores as I had after previous chemo.
So as described above, Cassie personally helped me resolve a chemo side effect ... mouth sores. In addition, for infusions, Cassie has provided excellent care, always with patience and compassion ... it's who she is!
