I would like to recognize Kathryn for the extraordinary compassion she showed during a difficult moment. She willingly took on an additional patient so that this person could be cared for and comforted in her final moments. That selfless act allowed the patient to pass with dignity, surrounded by the care she deserved! It takes an incredible nurse to go above and beyond in such a way, and Kathy did it with grace, kindness, and heart. She is such a sweet soul to have on our team, and her actions remind us of the true meaning of nursing. *Situation: There was a dying patient in the ED, and the unit she was preassigned was full, so Kathy decided to add to her already heavy workload by accepting this patient on her unit so she could pass peacefully with her family at her side.
