I wanted to give recognition to Jackie Harris, your charge RN for tonight. Jackie was challenged with a high census in L&D, and a fetal demise that delivered prior to arriving at the ED, where her expertise was needed. Jackie took a deep breath, ignored the complaining staff around her, and did what needed to be done without hesitation.

She remained calm, collected, and caring towards the ED staff who were unfamiliar with the circumstance and the patient experiencing what may be the most difficult day of her life. She understood the situation was far from ideal, but that was beyond her control; she shone as a true leader in the moment and did what was best for the patient. She did great in such a challenging situation.
